Mary Every

On Tuesday January 23rd 2024, before dawn broke, Mary Lou Every, joined her husband Gary Lee Every in the Glory of Her Lord and Savior. She was met by many family and friends she spoke often of missing. Her presence will be missed by her sons and their wives, Jerry (Joyce) and Terry (Suzy) Every; her grandchildren, Josh (Chelsea) Every, Jerren (Hema) Every, Brandon (Leslie) Every, Amber (Shane) Green, Kevin (Sydney) Every, and Austin (Kenzie) Every; beloved great-grandchildren, James, Keegan, Aurora, Rosalie and Mattox; her nephew, Steve (Jill) Goodrich and her dear friends/family members who could always be counted on to make her smile, Katie and Mark West.
Mary Lou, don’t forget the Lou, was born October 30, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harold and Margaret Cline, and has one sister, Barbara Goodrich. Her Friends and family describe her as the life of the party, in a crowded room you could always find her laughter. She was a wonderful woman that lived every second of life to its fullest, whether painting the lions at a fraternity house as a young adventurous lady, taking her grandchildren toilet papering during a Halloween campout, being a leader in organizations like Job’s Daughters, Eastern Stars, or Tri-Valley band boosters. Mary Lou also enjoyed her church, Nashport-Irville United Methodist Church.
She and Gary were the founding members of the Purple Peddlers, a tricycle drill team made up of other older adventurous ladies traveling the country and performing in the Macy’s day parade. They also loved their motorcycle, traveling over 200,000 miles riding a Goldwing in every state in the union. They helped to start the Y-Bridge Wings in Zanesville, leading the club for several years and then leading the State of Ohio GWRRA for several more. Over 43 years ago, Mary Lou started Every’s Tax Service, treating her customers like family, which they remain today. Mary Lou was a hugger, and when she met you, hugs were always going to be given out.
May we all be lucky enough to live like Mary Lou, squeeze every moment of happiness and joy out of the life, have adventures and live like today is all we have, find the love of your life early and be able to look back on those days spent together without regret, make friends of all we meet and a difference in their lives, but most of all build a family of strong confident men and women that you can stand back and see the differences in each, but the unity in all.
Mary Lou will be missed, but her laughter will live on.
A Celebration of this life will be held at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 third St. Frazeysburg. Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2024, from 3pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1pm with Pastor Bob Beyer officiating.
Mary Lou will be laid to rest next to her husband, Gary, at Irville Cemetery, Nashport.
If you wish to make a donation to the Genesis Hospice- Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 in her name, it would be appreciated. The care they provided to her and the family, during a trying time, was above what was expected. Her family thanks you.
