Drugs Discovered During Traffic Stop

Cambridge Police discover drugs during a traffic stop Monday morning.

Cambridge Police said Sergeant Phillip Hall was on Clark Street working a drug interdiction detail around 8 a.m. when he saw a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Matthew Blair, of Heath.

Sgt. Hall knew Blair, a former Cambridge resident, didn’t have a driver’s license. A traffic stop took place on Blaine Avenue.

Patrolman Roy Angler was called to the scene with a K9 and the dog conducted a sniff of the exterior of the vehicle and alerted on the driver’s side.

Officers searched the vehicle and found a bag of ICE, a smokable form of meth, in the driver’s door. They also found a spring loaded knife where the passenger, 20-year-old Dalton Crawmer, of Newark, had been sitting.

Crawmer was taken to the Guernsey County Jail and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Blair was charged with driving under an OVI suspension and will face felony drug charges. He’s also being held in the Guernsey County Jail.
