Detroit Drug Supplier Sentenced to Jail
A Detroit man is now serving a 17-year jail term.
Brandon Allen, 29, of Detroit was the leader of a Detroit drug ring that supplied illegal drugs into Southeastern Ohio. His drug network in Southeastern Ohio worked out of Glouster, in Athens County. He was found guilty of 12 charges including; 10 counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, one count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs and one count of Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity.
Following his 17-year term he will be subject to five years of Community Control. Allen must pay the Prosecutor’s Law Enforcement Trust Fund $100,000 to reimburse Athens County for the investigation. If he cannot raise $80,000 of that by September 25, he could face forfeiture of property.
He was arrested at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in July as he boarded a flight heading for the Dominican Republic.
"Justice was done today," Athens County Prosecutin Attorney, Keller Blackburn said. "Drug traffickers everywhere should know that there will be severe consequences for those who send drugs into our community. Mr. Allen’s conviction today sends a strong message. We’re fighting back."
