Several Facing Charges from Perry County Drug Arrests

Several arrests have been made in Perry County from three separate drug investigations.

Seven defendants have been indicted by a Perry County Grand Jury for various felony drug charges with several more indictments expected in the coming weeks. According to the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in June of 2013 after they received information that methamphetamine was being produced at several locations in the New Lexington area.

As a result of the investigation, the sheriff’s office and the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force identified a total of 13 individuals involved in some way to the production of meth. The involvement stemmed from purchasing the supplies to produce the drug to actually being involved in the manufacturing process itself. Others were found to be involved in the sales and distribution of the drugs.

The seven indicted from this case so far include:

Jack L. Whitney, 31, of New Lexington

Michael L. Hagaman Jr, 33, of New Lexington

Walter G. Munyan, 40, of New Lexington

Tayva J. Goodin, 27, of Corning

Gregory A. Goodin, 30, of Corning

Larry R. Hiles Jr, 33, of New Lexington

Secondly, 47-year-old Kelly S. Rambo of Crooksville was also indicted on two felony counts of trafficking in methamphetamine in a separate incident. According to the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force had made two undercover purchases of meth from Rambo at her Crooksville home at 10 North Buckeye Street. Rambo was later arrested at the home where officers seized currency and drug trafficking equipment.

And finally, 43-year-old Richard E. Giles of Shawnee is facing four different felony drug charges. Narcotics detectives received information in April that led them to 6450 Portie-Flamingo Road in Shawnee. Deputies seized a total of 236 marijuana plants in three separate grow rooms in Giles’ garage with more processed marijuana found inside the home. Nine pounds of marijuana was seized from the property with a street value of nearly $25,000. Deputies also seized 11 firearms and assault rifles.
