Cambridge Courthouse Puts On Musical Light Display
Each year, the Courthouse in Downtown Cambridge puts on a sparkling holiday display for area residents.
Saturday night, the lights made their seasonal debut to the public. According to the Dickens Victorian Village website, the light display includes 30,000 different lights that are timed by 364 electrical circuits. Christmas music plays beneath the lights. We spoke to Jim Chugg who has been attending the display for about 6 years now and he told us his favorite aspect of the display.
"My favorite part is that it brings so many folks to Downtown Cambridge and we’ve gone through some tough times here and this is a real centerpiece for this community."
Chugg told us he doesn’t get into the Christmas spirit until after Thanksgiving and the twinkling light show at the Courthouse is his kick off every holiday season. Chugg explains what keeps him coming back each year.
"I love the town. I love the community and every year the light show is something that you just cant believe and it’s different every year. The music and the lights are choreographed so well, its awe inspiring."
The light show starts at 5:30PM each evening and ends at 8PM. Four different light shows play within that time frame. Each display lasts anywhere from 8 to 12 minutes long.
