Salvation Army Receives Generous Donation
The Salvation Army of Zanesville got a generous donation Wednesday.
The check, presented by Jim McLaughlin, Director of the Zanesville Civic Chorus, was worth a little over $1,700. It will go toward funding the debt of the Salvation Army. We spoke to Office Manager Mindy McCloy who told us just how much the gift means.
"We really appreciate the support. We appreciate the Zanesville Civic Chorus and Orchestra. Knowing that we have a need, and they helped us by supporting us to meet that need and we want to say thank you so much."
The money was raised by the Chorus through a free will donation concert with the performance of Handel’s "Messiah". We talked to McLaughlin, who shared why they chose this organization to give to.
"We heard that they had a special need this year. They always have need but they have some indebtedness also, as we’ve been presenting this Messiah concert for 85 years here in Zanesville for free to the community, but its just in the last 13 years, we’ve been able to offer a free will offering to charities in the area. So we thought Salvation Army should get our gift this year."
If you would like to give to the Salvation Army, you can do so by donating to the Red Kettle Campaign.
