Two Arrested in February Overdose Death

Muskingum Co- The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office said two people have been indicted and arrested for their role in an overdose death.
Sheriff Matt Lutz said after meeting with Prosecutor Ron Welch, Tashia Stevens was indicted and arrested for involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs, tampering with evidence and trafficking in drugs.
Shawn Ridenbaugh was indicted and arrested for two counts of obstructing justice.
Sheriff Lutz said on February 22, 2024, the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Parmar Gas Station/ Store at 1460 Greenwood Avenue in reference to a male believed to have overdosed in the bathroom. When deputies arrived they found Matthew Parmer and transported him to Genesis Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Detective Bureau was notified and immediately began an investigation into who provided Mr. Parmar with the illegal narcotics that ultimately led to his death.
Both Stevens and Ridenbaugh are currently in the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
