Elk’s Eye Endeavors Celebrates One-Year Anniversary
ZANESVILLE, OH – As Zanesville gears up for Independence Day celebrations, The Elk’s Eye Endeavors LLC. has another special reason to celebrate.
This week marks the one-year anniversary of the Elk’s Eye Art Market, which opened its doors in July of 2023 and has since become a beloved local spot.
Starting with around 12 to 14 artists, the market now showcases the works of 30 local artists, featuring a variety of items like paintings, jewelry, rugs and wood carvings.
“We have a wide variety of media here, and a wide variety of artists. Some have never been shown anywhere before. This venue provided them with a place they felt comfortable bringing their work. Many of them are artisans, they’re work is rather large in size and it doesn’t necessarily fit in some venues. This allowed them to have a place to show their work and show it well, while being accessible to costumers,” The Elk’s Eye Endeavors LLC Managing Partner, Carol Bridwell said.
To celebrate this milestone, the Art Market is hosting two drawings. From July 3rd through July 6th, visitors can enter for a chance to win one of four pieces of art. There will be a second drawing running until July 31st, offering six more beautiful pieces as prizes.
Bridwell shared her excitement about the anniversary and hinted at some exciting future plans.
“It means a lot because as most people know, businesses don’t always make it through that first year. We’ve learned a lot. We met most of our expectations and we’re growing and we’re getting stronger. We have all of our artists give us tremendous feedback that keeps you going even if you have a bad day. We have other artists that we’re hoping to bring on, and a couple in the wings. We will be, hopefully, expanding a little bit more,” said Bridwell.
The market is located at 22 South Fourth Street, and operates on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM. During the First Friday Art walks, they extend their hours to 8 PM.
