Donald Potts

Donald D. Potts, 87, of Senecaville, passed away Wednesday (July 17, 2024) at his home.
He was born December 11, 1936 in Senecaville, the son of the late Pauline (Walton) Potts Stevens and Oscar C. Potts.
A 1954 graduate of Senecaville High School, Don worked at Champion Spark Plug for seventeen years. In 1978, they relocated to Grove City where he became the International Union Representative for the UAW.
Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He was cherished by his family and friends.
He was a member of the Senecaville Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Grove City Masons and Shriners.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren. His love of sports included Ohio State football and basketball.
Don was a US Marine Corps veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert G. Potts; and a grandson, Donnie Dean Potts.
Don is survived by his wife, Linda (Beggs) Potts, whom he married August 18, 1962; his sons, Bob Potts (Veronica) and Jeff Potts (Tammy); his grandchildren, Lindsay Marto (Johnny), Morgan Bumpus (Collin), and Mitchell Potts (Mattie); his great-granddaughters, Riley Potts and Esther Tibu; his great-grandson, Jackson Arkle; his step-grandchildren, Brandon Arkle (Natalie), Emily Tibu (Kelvin), Austin Umstattd, Anthony Umstattd, and Aiden Umstattd; and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday (July 21, 2024) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Monday (July 22, 2024) at 1 p.m. with Pastor Wes Jones officiating.
Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
