Eastside Community Ministry 18th Annual Golf Outing
ZANESVILLE, OH – Eastside Community Ministry continued to make a difference one swing at a time during their 18th annual Golf Outing.
Golfers and supporters enjoyed a day on the course at Eaglesticks Golf Club, all in support of a good cause. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Eastside Youth Program, which provides assistance to children who face the challenges of growing up in environments marked by poverty, substance abuse, and illiteracy.
“We have a year around Youth Program with kids that are in kindergarten through the 12th grade. They come after school and in the summertime. This program is free of charge, and we do have 40 kids that we take. It’s a fun time here at Eastside when we have all those kids there after school and in the summertime. This program offers tutoring, life skills, and it’s a safe place for kids to come and get an experience that they wouldn’t get if they weren’t a part of our program.” Eastside Community Ministry Executive Director, Jamie Trout said.
From the first tee-off to the final putt, the outing was a success as 23 teams signed up for this year’s outing. The generous contribution from participants and sponsors will ensure these young individuals will receive the support and resources they need.
“We operate by the support of our community. Through grants and fundraising, that’s how we’re able to do what we do every day. This is very important for our programming.” Trout said.
Eastside plans on having the golf outing again next year. For more information on their Youth Program, you can visit their website.
