Bicyclist seriously injured in Zanesville Accident

Zanesville, Ohio:   The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a Monday morning accident  involving a bicyclist.

According to Patrol Sgt. Jeff Jirles, at about 12:30 a.m.  troopers were requested to assist Zanesville Police on East Main Street near Underwood.

Sgt. Jirles said 52-year-old Walter Dobbs of Zanesville was riding his bicycle when he collided with a 2006 Honda mini-van driven by 28-year-old Steven Gradert also of Zanesville.

Dobbs was transported to Genesis Hospital with serious injuries and later transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Gradert and a passenger 32- year- old Krista McFee were not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
