Clay Gardens Place Joins Paws-itive Partnership
ZANESVILLE, OH- Another local business this week is making a difference at The Animal Shelter Society with their Paws-itive Partnership.
Clay Gardens Place, a retirement and assisted living facility, just wrapped up their pet supply drive where they gathered liquid laundry detergent, bleach, stuffed toys and Purina dog chow to donate to the animal shelter.
“We are a community that does allow pets within our facility, so I thought what better way to introduce that to the community than to partner with the animal shelter, any resident as long as they’re willing can have a cat, a dog within our facility,” said Clay Gardens Place Senior Lifestyle Counselor Tyler Lasure.
The Animal Shelter Society also has plans to give back to Clay Gardens Place for their support.
“The concept that clay gardens does with letting them keep an animal is part of our mission statement, and we greatly respect that, so yes, as soon as he stopped in and said we want to be a partner we were all for it and this is going to continue, we’re going to do some other things with them that we have some minds of,” said The Animal Shelter Society Executive Director April Gibson.
Also this week at The Animal Shelter Society is their Pet of the Week. Meet Spots! Spots is a five-year-old male Dachshund-Terrier mix that is available for adoption. He enjoys playing in swimming pools and going on car rides.
“He would be great for an older couple, or someone that, you know some of these dogs are so big that some of them get pulled, he’s very easy to walk, he’s just a good dog, we just have to be careful that he cannot be adopted out to a home with a cat in it,” said Gibson.
