Michael Lee “Big Mike” Ross, 47, of Adamsville, died Friday, August 9, 2024, at Ohio University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

Born June 24, 1977 in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of Larry Ross and the late Linda (Gill) Ross and a 1995 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Mike was a Christian by faith, a volunteer, coach, hunter, fisherman and didn’t know a stranger. He loved telling stories to everyone he met and cracking jokes with his family and friends. Mike was a 4-H Advisor for 15 years for the Adamsville Mixed Cloverleaf’s and biddy league basketball coach. He enjoyed spending the majority of his time coaching softball, including biddy league softball and travel ball, He spent years coaching several teams like The Bulldawgs, Central Ohio Pride and Ohio Diamonds. Mike treasured the times he was able to watch races, including taking his children to Eldora Speedway, and more recently cheering on Devin Moran.

Surviving is his father, Larry Ross; a son, Kurt Ross; four daughters, Bree Ross, Kiley Reffitt, KayLynn Reffitt, and Alivia Reffitt; his best friend, JoAnn Campbell; three nieces, Lindsay, Jenna and Macy; a nephew, Jacob; and the mother of his children, Aimee.

In addition to his mother, Linda Ross, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Ashcraft and brother-in-law, Phil Ashcraft.

Friends and family may visit, 12:00 Noon till 4:00pm, Sunday August 18, 2024, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, August 19, 2024, at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.

Mike will be laid to rest at Heaven’s Gate Cemetery, Adamsville, Ohio.
