William Peter “Pete” Miller Jr., 79, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House with his family by his side. He was born December 24, 1944, in Zanesville to the late William P. and Eloise R. (Taylor) Miller.
Pete was a member of the first graduating class of West Muskingum High School in 1963. He served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam the entire year of 1968. After returning home Pete became a farmer and a well-known and nationally recognized businessman owning Pete Miller Pipe and Miller Auto Sales. Pete was a member of Duck’s Unlimited and was a Hopewell Township Trustee.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joy Kirkbride Miller; two sons: Joe (Mary Dupler) Miller and James Miller; a daughter Julie (Justin) Huntsman; a brother James P. (Paulette) Miller; four grandchildren: Wyatt Miller, Cheyenne Miller, Merisa Mills, Maddox Gibbs and Grace Dupler; a great grandson Oliver Miller; two nieces and two nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Jason Miller and a sister Eloise R. (William) Bishop.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Monday August 19 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD. The funeral service will begin at 2 pm on Tuesday in the Snouffer Chapel with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery with full military honors.
