Fatal crash on State Route 146 in Muskingum County

SALT CREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio–The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two vehicle accident on State Route 146 in Muskingum County.

The accident happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. Friday near Milepost 24 in Salt Creek Township.

Authorities said a 2018 Nissan Sentra driven by 35-year-old Michael Munoz of Lowell, Ohio  was east on SR 146 when it went left of center and struck a Chevy 1500 travelling west on 146.

The driver of the truck, 69-year-old Jeffrey Starr of Chandlersville passed away from injuries he sustained in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
