David Miller Sr.

David E. Miller Sr., 85 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on September 4, 2024, at Altercare of Zanesville Nursing Home.
He was born on August 6, 1939, in New Straitsville, son of the late Ernest Miller and Louise (Moulton) Miller. Dave worked in a Shoe Factor in Lancaster as well as the Hocking Valley Community Hospital, where he earned the name “Killer Miller”. He later worked and retired from Walmart in Logan, Ohio. Dave was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in New Straitsville and volunteered at the New Straitsville Fire Department for several years. He loved spending his spare time with his family and friends.
Dave is survived by his 4 children: David (Becky) Miller Jr., Diana Anderson, DeAnna (Ty) Davis, Donna Miller; sister, Betty McClleland; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; special nephew, Butch Walker; the love of his life, Helen (Draper) Knight; several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Miller, Leo Miller, Jim Bob Miller; sisters, Irene Walker, Kathlene Dennison, May Miller, Marilyn Burgess; son-in-laws, Jeffrey J. Anderson Sr. and Nathan Johnson.
Per Killer Miller’s wishes, a dignified cremation will take place at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday September 14, 2024, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will start at 1:00 PM with Pastor Aaron Bounds officiating.
