Constance “Connie” Sophia Schott, 78 of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born August 17, 1946, in Cambridge, Ohio to the late Andrew L. and Pauline M. Crock Crum.

She was a 1964 graduate of Caldwell High School and earned her Bachelor of Science from Alderson Broaddus University later in life. By continuing her education later in life, she showed her sons to never give up on your dreams which motivated them to earn college degrees, even graduating from Hocking College with her oldest. Connie was a nurse for many years having retired from the Department of Corrections. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and will be remembered for her strong faith. She has shared her faith to many by making thousands of rosaries that have been sent across the world.

Affectionately known as “Nana” by her family, Connie was known for caring for everyone around her, especially through food. Her passion for cooking meant pies, cookies, and home cooked meals were always available, day or night. Her love of gardening overflowed as well, leading to even tomatoes making their way to church to be passed out. Connie enjoyed traveling the world with her family, especially her husband Richard. Her scrapbooks showcased trips from Disney World to Europe.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Richard Paul Schott, whom she married April 8, 1967; three sons Tom (Shelley) Schott of Caldwell, Jim (Kelly) Schott of Vickery, OH, and David (Jodi) Schott of Caldwell; grandchildren Josh (Sydney), Chris, Cantor, Jacob, Sarah, Sami (Brad), and Hunter Schott; great-grandchildren Jace, Hailee, Grantlee, Ivy, and Owen Hull; sister Donna Mary Crum of Caldwell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

While every one of us are incredibly saddened by the loss of Connie, we are comforted by knowing that she now rests eternally with our Heavenly Lord. During this time of grief, we know she would want you to smile, praise God, and say an extra prayer for a loved one. Her love and passion lives on through each of us in our actions and prayers.
