Sergeant Snowman’s Wounded Warrior Project Fundraiser
What do McAlester, Oklahoma and Zanesville, Ohio have in common? That would be Sergeant Snowman.
In 2001 Mary Ann Bucci created the pictured work of art for her father who was a veteran from World War II. Nearly fourteen years later Bucci’s “Solder Snowman” is being used for a bigger purpose. A Wounded Worriers fundraiser in McAlester, Oklahoma.
“So they actually were the people that thought of the idea.,” stated Bucci. “They were going to put their soldier personality out there. He’s going to be on the top of about a third story building all morning tomorrow in McAlaster, Oklahoma, and he’s going to be raising funds and they’re going to use my snowman on t-shirts, and everyone that donates out there will get a shirt with my snowman on it.”
Sergeant Snowman is the stage name of McAlester radio personality and former Army Specialist, Chris Bradley. While Sergeant Snowman is in Oklahoma, thanks to the Bucci’s you can help impact the lives of America’s injured veterans from right here in Zanesville. Starting at dawn Friday. you can stop by American Pride and drop off your wounded warrior project donation.
“People will come by and drop donations into the bucket behind me, and we’ll be giving them a card of a little snowman that I painted,” said Bucci.
According to Bucci all the money donated during Friday’s event will be combined with the money raised in Oklahoma and be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
