Lt. Governor Husted Speaks on Ohio’s Manufacturing Strength and Future
CAMBRIDGE, OH – It’s Manufacturing Month, and Ohio is showing off its industrial strength.
The Cambridge-Guernsey County Improvement Corporation hosted a Manufacturing Appreciation Luncheon on October 2nd, where Lt. Governor, Jon Husted delivered remarks. October is Manufacturing Month and Ohio is a leader in the industry, ranking third nationally. Ohio contributes more than $114 billion in manufactured goods each year.
“America understands that we need to make more things in America, and Ohio is the place to do that because we’ve got a great work force, we’ve got affordable, reliable energy, we’ve got the infrastructure to provide the logistics to move those products, and for all those reasons Ohio is a strong manufacturing state, and we just need to keep it that way,” Husted said.
As the manufacturing industry evolves, the combination of skilled workers and cutting-edge technology is seen as key to Ohio’s continued success in manufacturing.
“We’ll see in the future of manufacturing in Ohio is more technology in the manufacturing process. You’ll see more robotics, more automation, more censors, so that you can produce more goods faster and create greater productivity. That will allow us to compete with those low wage nations to produce products that are affordable for American consumers and beyond,” Husted said.
Manufacturing will continue powering Ohio’s economy, one product at a time.
