ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – Zane State University participated in the state wide "College Goal Sunday", a free event presented by the Ohio Association of Student and Financial Aid Administrators. At the event volunteers assisted students and parents in completing their free application for federal student aid.
Black History Month at Stone Academy

State Panel to Explore Police-Community Relations
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – A state panel exploring the relationship between police officers and the communities they serve is set to hold a public forum in southwest Ohio. The panel will collect information and identify concerns to develop recommendations on how to help train police officers to interact with residents in minority communities.
Proposal to Extend Statute of Limitations
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – A proposed Ohio senate legislation would extend the statute of limitations for rape and sexual battery crimes amid an ongoing state initiative to test rape kits to help solve reported sexual assaults. The bill introduced last week would allow prosecutors to file charges 20 years after DNA evidence in rape and sexual battery cases is found, regardless of when the crime occurred.
Marine Memorial at Ohio’s Statehouse
COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – A memorial paying tribute to a central Ohio-based marine reserve that lost 22 Marines and a Navy corpsman in Iraq in 2005 once again can be viewed at Ohio’s Statehouse. Display of the exhibit honoring the members of the Columbus-based Lima company continues today through Feb. 22 in the statehouse rotunda.
