Melvin Fields Sr.

Melvin E. Fields was born February 15, 1961, in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Billie Fields and Crystal Fields. He was preceded in death by brother William E. Fields “Pete”. Melvin was the youngest of 5 children. He departed this life on September 19, 2024.

He attended Roanoke City School District.

Melvin moved to Philadelphia, PA where he resided for several years. He held several jobs during that time. He met and married Valerie M. Williams and out of that union, God blessed them with one son, Melvin Jr.

Melvin relocated to Columbus, OH, where joined other family members residing there over a course of time. He moved in several areas of the state, making his last move to Zanesville, OH.

He leaves to cherish his memory his Fiancé, Julie Gebhart; two stepdaughters, Asia Gebhart and Macy Gebhart; son, Melvin (Semora) Fields, Jr. of Dover, DE; sisters, Rosa Conway of Philadelphia, PA, Joyce Mohades of Richmond, VA, Judith Trent of Columbus, OH; aunt, Estella Farmer Bloomfield of CT; grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
