David L. Lashley, 55, of Pleasant City, passed away Sunday (October 20, 2024) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 29, 1969 in Cambridge, son of Mary (Van Tuyl) Lashley and the late Clarence “Elmer” Lashley.

A 1987 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, David retired from the Rolling Hills Local School District after thirty-three years of service. He had been in charge of transportation, maintenance, groundskeeping, and the buildings for many years. Currently, he had worked at MK & J as a meat cutter.

David had a passion for fishing and became a member of the Southern Ohio Bassmasters with the help of his special fishing buddy, Jeff. He also enjoyed hunting, motorcycling, and dirt track racing. He loved his ’71 Nova. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football team.

David had a heart as big as the moon and was a wonderful dad and papaw, cherishing time spent with his family and grandchildren. He was happiest at family gatherings.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Slade.

David is survived by his mother, Mary Lashley; his wife, Tona (Russell) Lashley, whom he married May 31, 2003; two sons, Todd Lashley of Zanesville and Aaron Lashley of Columbus; a daughter and grandson, Becka Lashley and Houston of Cambridge; two brothers, Tony “Flash” Lashley of Pleasant City and Larney (& Melissa) Lashley of Pleasant City; two grandchildren, Knox and Stryker; two nephews; three nieces; and many close cousins, family members, and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday (October 24, 2024) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Ty Sichina officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
