Jerry Sills

Jerry Lee Sills, 71, of Byesville, passed away Monday (October 21, 2024) at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville.

He was born May 13, 1953 in Cambridge, son of the late Thomas F. Sills and Gloria L. (Secrest) Sills.

A graduate of Meadowbrook High School, Jerry retired in 2018 from Kerry where he had worked in the warehouse for thirty-five years.

Jerry was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas F. Sills and James Sills; and a sister, Mabel L. Sills.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jean (Reasoner) Sills, whom he married January 29, 1972; two sons, Jerry L. (& Christy) Sills II of Cambridge and Steven A. (& Summer) Sills of Springfield; a brother, John W. Sills of Byesville; a sister, Virginia (& Vance) Heeter of Venus PA; a sister-in-law, Jonnie Kay (& John) Latchic of Cambridge; his mother-in-law, Dobbie Chappell of Cambridge; five granddaughters, Brittney Sills, Kennedy (& Terry) Leasure, Morgan (& Jordan) Fain, Emma Sills, and Seanna Sills; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

Private services will be held for the family. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.
