Phyllis E. Moran, 87, of Frazeysburg died early Monday morning, November 4, 2024, at The Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born July 20, 1937 in Newark, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Raymond L. & Eura C. (Davis) Kirkpatrick and a 1955 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, a member of the Fallsburg Homemakers Club and a breast cancer survivor. Phyllis enjoyed spending time in her gardens, crocheting, playing rummy, and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes. In her younger days, she enjoyed going to the races but more recently she enjoyed picking winners of NFL games and she was right most of the time. Phyllis was a loving and dedicated homemaker for her family. She was an excellent cook and baker. Phyllis loved to host family gatherings, especially Christmas because she enjoyed being the Christmas bingo caller. She loved spending time with her family and made each member feel special and welcome.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Ronald F. Moran; three children, Brenda L. Moran and Rhonda (David) Garber, both of Frazeysburg and Donnie (Brenda) Moran of Dresden; eight grandchildren, Leigha Moran, Monica (Matt) Ehrhardt, Grant Garber, Brodie (Ashley) Moran, Devin (Lakia) Moran, Tristin (Abby) Moran, Wylie (Jordan) Moran and Savanna Moran; five great grandchildren, Ella, Addison, Miles, Everly, and Hayes; four brothers, Richard (Wilma) Kirkpatrick, Ronald (Joyce) Kirkpatrick, Robert Kirkpatrick, and Ralph (Peggy Hughes) Kirkpatrick; two sisters in-law, Kathy Moran and Jean (Larry) Harris; brother in-law, Steve Moran and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Drumm and Carolyn Sue Jenkins; mother in-law, Alverta (Cannon) Moran; father in-law Ben (Dorothy) Moran and two brothers in-law, Jim Moran and Danny Moran.
The family would like to thank the loving and caring staff of Genesis and The Oaks at Bethesda who took such amazing care of Phyllis.
Friends and family may call 5pm to 7pm Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Road, Frazeysburg, Ohio 43822.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the church with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.
Phyllis will be laid to rest in Perryton Cemetery.
