Y-City Toy Drive Kicks off the Holiday Season
ZANESVILLE, OH – Zanesville Police Department and Gracie Allegiance Ohio team up for the local holiday toy drive.
November marks the beginning of the holiday season, which means it’s the perfect time to give back to your community. ZPD and Gracie Allegiance have come together to spread holiday cheer and collect toys for the Zanesville youth.
“One of the things I’ve learned, everyone really values their personal time, but in my life the most joy that I’ve ever had is giving joy to others,” ZPD officer Wolfe continued, “I can guarantee that if someone were to come in and spend some time with us either for the toy drive, or at Christmas, or just getting involved with Project Blueprint they would leave feeling good about being a part of that because building relationships with these young people is just an amazing thing. “
Both Officer Wolfe and Jason Cable urge Zanesville residents to come out and support their community.
“It’s Zanesville, it’s not huge, it’s not Columbus, we can change things here. Change is something well within our grasp, we just need people that want to get involved,” Wolfe said. “The more people we have that want to actually give us some time, the more kids we can serve, the more kids we can serve the more good we can do.”
Black Belt Jiu-Jitsu Professor Cable said nothing brings him more joy than giving back.
“We would just like the community to come out and see what it’s like to help people out, to help the kids out. For me, there’s nothing better than seeing a kid smile on Christmas,” Cable said. “If they don’t have something then you give them something. You aren’t going to get a better joy out of life than that.”
There are six drop off locations for the toy drive. These locations include Red Rose Tattoo, True North Fitness, Zanesville Police Department, Zanesville Fire Department CrossFit Contour, and of course Gracie Allegiance.
The Y-City Toy Drive isn’t the only thing ZPD is getting involved in this holiday season, officer Wolfe would like to shine a light on the annual ax throwing tournament at Kick-N-Ax to raise more money for the toy drive and for Project Blueprint.
