Robert “Bob” Barry

Robert G. “Bob” Barry, 62 of Zanesville, died 1:51 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Genesis Hospital Emergency Department. He was born Friday, April 6, 1962, in Zanesville, the son of William S. Barry and Janet M. (Jacobs) Barry and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Bob was a graduate of Rosecrans High School and Wheeling University. He was Vice President of Marketing for Bloomer Candy, where he was instrumental in the growth and success of the company. He later owned Guernsey Distribution Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Good Samaritan Foundation Board.

Despite battling alcoholism, for most of his life, Bob was loved by many. Bob’s family would like to recognize Doretta Donley for her kindness and care she gave Bob over the years.

Bob is survived by two children, Danielle (Kolby) Knox and Nicholas Barry, two grandchildren, Madison and Grayson Knox; siblings, Teresa (John) Kinkead, Tom (April Smith) Barry and Annie (Phillip) Kane; one sister-in-law, Joan Barry and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Emma Marie Barry and one brother, Patrick Barry.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 North Fifth Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Brian Beal as celebrant. Bob will be laid to rest in the family plots in Mt. Olive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bob’s memory.
