Michael Martin

Michael Frederick Martin, II, 68, of Kingsland, Georgia, formerly of Zanesville, Ohio, joined those in eternal peace on Thursday, October 24, 2024 with loved ones by his side. Michael was born May 31, 1956 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, son of the late Michael Frederick and Genevieve E. (Griffith) Martin, Sr. In addition to his parents, Michael is also preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Mosser, LuEtta Mae Edwards, Donna Jean Gregg, Helen Jo Schoolcraft and Kathy Carney; beloved son, Michael Frederick Martin, III; nephew, Rodney Martin; mother and father-in-law, Harold Vernon and Jeanne Kelly Penn; bestfriend, Jim Potts; very close friend, Frank Marden; and many of his fellow biker friends who have gone on before him.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Lisa Penn-Martin; beloved children, Kelly Martin, Ian (Jamie) Penn, William Martin, Christopher Martin, and Mikala (Scott) Martin Terrio; grandpup and grandchildren, Mercy Mae Martin, Iryna and Grayson Penn, Grayson, Logan, and Dillon Martin, Norman, Ramsey and Everett Terrio; several nieces and nephews; very close friends, Mike Umpleby and Frank Leaman; and a host of other loved ones and many friends whom he loved passionately.
Michael attended Marshall University and later graduated from West Virginia University in 1986 with a bachelor of arts in petroleum geology and a minor in chemistry. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. Michael went on to enjoy careers as an EMT, a truck driver and a tattoo artist. He was an avid motorcyclist and a member of the Missing Link MCC where he served as President of the Zanesville chapter.
Michael loved to spend his time working on motorcycles. He also enjoyed playing guitar and listening to his favorite music. Michael was an artist and he loved to create, especially through drawing. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family and his wonderful grandchildren. Michael was a loving husband, grandfather, friend, and according to Mikala, the best father ever. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
