Cecil Brownrigg

Cecil R. Brownrigg age 93, of Reinersville, OH passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. He was born December 28, 1930 in Sharon, OH son of the late Paul and Rosalie Dennis Brownrigg.

He served his Nation in the United States Marine Corps. He was formerly employed by Interlake Iron Corporation at Beverly, OH, Central Market in McConnelsville, OH, Shelly & Sands, and Tommy Mayle Construction Company. Cecil will always be remembered as a sports fan, who enjoyed watching his favorite teams compete, including the Boston Celtics, Bengals, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cincinnati Reds.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen “Skeet” J. Scanlon Brownrigg, whom he married October 7, 1955 and who passed away April 6, 2024; daughter Sandra J. Schott; grandchildren Jerry Brownrigg II and Jennifer Lynn Schott; siblings Mariel Dover, Clifton Brownrigg, and Goldie Bailey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters Rita Brownrigg of Reinersville and Karen (Rich) Goble of Jamestown, OH; two sons Jerry (Lisa) Brownrigg of Caldwell, OH and Randy (Melissa) Brownrigg of Reinersville; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, November 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will conclude visitation Monday, November 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Greg Marquis officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharon Cemetery, with Military Graveside Honors conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
