Columbus Roofing Gifts New Roof to Zanesville Foster Family

ZANESVILLE, OH – A local family has something extra special to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, thanks to a generous gift from Columbus Roofing.

With only two days until Thanksgiving, Columbus Roofing Company installed a brand-new roof for a family in Zanesville. The company chose the family after hearing their inspiring story– they’ve opened their hearts and home to foster nine children.

“We partnered with a couple local agencies; Journey Homes is the one with this family here. They help to support families in transition. When foster kids get taken out by the county or the city, they will help to find them parents or families to work with. This is one of their families that they had, and we actually reached out to about 5 or 6 different agencies, got a list of all the properties, checked them all out, and decided who we thought would be the most valuable for this one. They have nine foster kids that live in this home,” CEO of Columbus Roofing, Michael McGovern said.

McGovern says he’s grateful for the opportunity to give back and support families who go above and beyond. Helping to provide a safe roof for a family fostering children is something his company is proud to do.

“It’s incredible. I’ve had a lot of really good people help me. This is my way to use the platform to give back,” McGovern said. “I think that when you get the opportunity to do something like this, you take it. It’s a selfless act, and it’s a close thing to God. It’s your opportunity to give just like he’s given to us. For me, it’s a fulfilling thing but at the same time I know I’m helping people and spreading good.”

This is the second year Columbus Roofing Company has gifted a roof to a family in need, and they plan to continue this heartwarming tradition for years to come.
