Carol Bice

Carol “Butchie” Lee Bice, 81, of Dresden, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Altercare of Coshocton.
Born February 20, 1943, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Edward “Lou” Melrose and Susie (Johnson) Melrose Scott. She was a graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Dresden. Carol worked 8.5 years as a bottom maker at the Longaberger Basket Company, 8.5 years as a job coach at Experience Works and a few other jobs in Dresden to keep herself busy over the years. She was a loving mother and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and once a week she would get together with her sisters to play Canasta. Carol loved reading her Bible, enjoyed fishing and watching the Buckeyes and Green Bay Packers play football on TV.
Surviving are her five children, Ed (Linda) Bice, Andy Bice, Rick Bice, Shelley (Rick) Spragg and Roger (Rhett) Bice; ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Marion Smith, Betty Wright, Mary Lehman, Bill Melrose, Orpha Noland, Ceedee Wright, and Jerry Melrose; and her ex-husband, Ronald (Ron) L. Bice, who she loved till the day she died.
Family and friends may visit from 11:00am till the time of service at 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, with Mr. Frosty Pierce officiating,
Carol will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery.
