Mary Swingle
Mary A. Swingle, 78 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 2:10 AM, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Altercare in Zanesville. She was born Sunday, April 7, 1946, in Zanesville, the daughter of Charles T. Willey and Dorothy M. (Leasure) Willey and was married to Elmer G. “Gene” Swingle her husband of over 50 years.
Mary worked at the Best Western Town House and the Comfort Inn of Zanesville. She was avid card player, loved to bowl and travel to Amish Country. Mary was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, who greatly enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She looked forward to the holidays and was a super Christmas shopper. Mary loved county music and was and a huge Elvis fan.
Mary is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Gene Swingle; eight children, David (Karen) Swingle, Jennifer Russell, Saundra Jean (Steve) Fisher, Robin (Warren) Daniels, DeeDee (Mark) Jenkins, Dana (Donna) Swingle, Candi (Richard) Enderle, Jude (Angie) Swingle; fifthteen grandchildren, Davina, Jessica, Shawn, Allison, Chelsea, Cassie, Shannon, Heather, Christina, Brooke, Markie, David, Cole, Zach, and Hailee; numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Barb (Jerry) Acheson; one sister-in-law, Billie Willey and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Alicia; her siblings, Russell Willey, Betty Willey, Ruth (Dillard) Caw, Ralph (Agnes) Willey, Dean Willey and Faye (Bill) Kelso, Sr.; brothers & sisters-in-law, Bill (Betty) Swingle, Don (Mary Lou) Swingle, Ronnie (Barb) Goodrich, Paul Swingle, Betty (Ernie) Buck, Phyllis Hyson and Eddie Hyson.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM, with Rev.
