Level One Snow Emergency
Coshocton and Perry Counties are under a Level 1 Snow Emergency as of 8:00 A.M.
Street Cleaning
The Waste Water and Street Departments were out making a preemptive strike to clear the drainage basins around the city as the snow starts to melt. According to Waste Water superintendent, Dave Markley, crews hit the flood prone areas first, shoveling snow off the basins to allow water to flow freely into the basin and not build up in the street.
Genesis Remodel
A major facelift, both outside, and in at Bethesda Hospital has taken five years and 200 million dollars. According to CEO Matt Perry they will be ready to move in in May. Perry says many of the changes will allow genesis to give state of the art patient care and bring Genesis into the national care giver level.
Rotary Rose Sale
Next Tuesday, both the Daybreak and Noon Rotary clubs of Zanesville will be starting their rose sale. President of the Noon Rotary Club, Paul McClelland, says all proceeds of the event will go to the many projects rotary does throughout the year. The rose sale ends March 25th and Rotary is selling them at 18 dollars a dozen.
Oil and Gas
A state house panel this week has heard testimony both for and against Governor John Kasich’s plan to raise taxes on shale gas and oil drillers. While the industry opposes a hike, the (Cleveland) plain dealer reports local officials told lawmakers yesterday the revenue is needed to pay for growing infrastructure costs created by drilling activity.
