Norma Scurlock Adams went peacefully to be with her Jesus on Friday (December 6, 2024). She spent the last 5 years of her life living in Marietta with her beloved granddaughter Tina. A bond of love that was rare and precious. Fully Blessed!

We would like to thank the hospice team at Amedisys and the staff at the O’Neill Senior Center for their loving care of Mom. She loved going to the centers in Marietta and Guernsey County. Thank you all for loving her. Also to her faithful daughter Mary for always being willing to help her Mother.

Norma was an active member of the Lore City United Methodist Church and choir for many decades. She was a beloved community member (a Lore City Legend) known for her green thumb and good home cooking. Always having something in the kitchen ready for anyone that stopped by. She was a loving Mother of 7 children, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Katie (Myers) and Charles Scurlock; siblings, Ken, George, Cliff, Herb, Nina, Katherine, and Ceola; her husband, Joseph Sr.; and her beloved son, Joseph Andrew (Sandy).

Norma is survived by her children, Barbara, Kenny, Linda, Timothy, Mary, and Albert; her grandchildren, Tina, Katie, Billy, Michael, Sarah, Britt, Stephan, and Victoria; her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kyla, Jake, Mia, Callie, Nora, Lyla, Keirsten, Dezarae, and Easton; and many nieces and nephews whom adored her.

Visitation will be held Thursday (December 12, 2024) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lore City United Methodist Church, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Carol Touvell officiating. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Senecaville, is handling arrangements.
