Friday Night is Time for Family Night
For the fourth Friday in a row, the Salvation Army invites anyone and everyone to its “Friday Night Family Night.”
The event came through planning meetings of doing something for the people in the shelter. The Army’s Dustin Redmond said they wanted to give everyone the opportunity to join in the fellowship of the Salvation Army.
“We wanted kids to have something to do on Friday nights, and anybody who doesn’t feel like they have a family, we want them to know we want to be apart of their family,” Redmond said. “And also, this is a way for us to be able to give back and show appreciation for the community for their support.”
Each Friday from 7:00 to 10:30 the Salvation Army wants people to go in and play games, eat and just be a part of the Army’s family.
“What we wanted to do is, we want to give back for what’s been given to us, but we want, with everyone being so busy, we want people to be able to come together as one and we thought that we can open our building for that to happen,” Redmond said. “We want people to interact with each other, to be apart of a family. If they’re not feeling apart of a family, we want to be apart of their family.”
Redmond said the past couple of weeks have been successful, but he wants everyone to come down. It is a free event.
