2015 College Night
Preparing for a future in higher education can be a difficult process for both students and parents. Thursday experts were on hand to assist in that difficult undertaking during the 2015 College Night.
The free event held at Ohio University of Zanesville allowed students and parents in grades 7-12 to attend three sessions of their choosing. Each session was designed to educate attendees about different aspects of the college experience including college planning, financial aid, campus living and much more.
“This is a great opportunity for students and parents to come out and learn about the college going process. It’s a really complicated process so we have a lot of financial aid, admissions experts coming from different colleges coming to present,” said Ohio College Guide, Sam Satterfield.
Over 600 people attended the 9th annual College Night and according to Satterfield, the information they received during the night’s event was invaluable.
“We’re trying to make it easy for them to navigate wherever they are, if they’re 7th and 8th graders kinda thinking about college, if they’re starting the search, or senior transitioning to college, there’s something for everyone here,” stated Satterfield.
Those who attended gained not only a plethora of college knowledge, but many scholarships and prizes were also awarded throughout the night.
