Death Under Investigation
PERRY COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Crooksville Police Department was called to a possible homicide at a home on Washington Street. Authorities report that the call came in as a dead on arrival. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been called to the scene.
Pothole Fixes
ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Zanesville Public Service Department has seven road crews out trying to patch all of the newly created potholes around the city. Public Service Director, Jay Bennett, said the crews are continuing to use the cold for the time being until plants open in the next several weeks and the hot mix becomes available.
"Pink House" Demolished
NEWARK, OHIO (WHIZ) – The infamous "Pink House" in Newark, often described as an eyesore was demolished Tuesday morning. The funding for this project came from Attorney General Mike Dewine’s "Moving Ohio Forward" Grant which pays to tear down dilapidated vacant homes throughout the state.
Stuff the Truck
ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – This Saturday from 10 A.M. Until 2 P.M., Christ’s Table will have a truck parked outside of Kroger on maple for it’s annual Stuff the Truck event. All the food stuffed into the truck will head straight to feeding people at Christ’s Table.
Frazeysburg Meth Lab Investigation
FRAZEYSBURG, OHIO (WHIZ) – Sheriff Matt Lutz says his deputies are investigating the discovery of a meth lab near Frazeysburg. It happened on Scout Road. Detective Sergeant Todd Kanavel said a farmer found over 100 16 ounce bottles with white powder inside them and called authorities. No arrests have been made but an investigation is now underway to find a suspect.
