Easter Egg Hunt with the House of Grace

For the first time, the House of Grace will have an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday.

For the last two years, the church has had its egg hunt on the Saturday of Easter weekend. Pastor Joe Dunlap said they wanted to have it on Easter to combine worship and a full family day. Although the church only has around 90 people in its congregation, Dunlap said around 2,000 people have attended the hunt in each of the past two years. Dunlap explained why he believes this is the case.

“We just want to give to the community,” Dunlap said. “It’s all about the community and reaching out to them, and letting them know there’s a House of Grace here that cares about them.”

Egg hunters will search for approximately 10,000 eggs filled with candy, but before the hunt Dunlap said people of all ages will get a gift. Whether it be a new bike or a simple gift card, he said there is something for everyone.

“It’s about the community,” Dunlap said. “It’s about letting them know that we’re here. We’re not only here on Easter. We’re here at Christmas time, we’re here throughout the year, 365 days of the year, and we want them to know there’s a place here that loves them: A place that will reach out to them. We are a church without walls, and what that means is we don’t want to stay inside our four walls. We want to reach into our community and let them know, ‘hey, let us help you make a difference in your life.'”

Dunlap said the doors open at 9:30 Easter morning. And he invites everyone to attend the day’s festivities.
