ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Wednesday is the first day of classes for Zanesville City School district.
Like other area schools, Wednesday marked the beginning of the school year at ZHS. We peeked into Adam Dollings’ science class. Mr. Dollings has been teaching at ZHS for nine years. Dollings is excited to announce a new program called Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science. When students entered into Mr. Dollings classroom Wednesday, they walked into an active crime scene with a dead body, blood, and vomit.
“Students will have to figure out how this woman died using various techniques, such as performing toxicology testing, DNA analysis, and finger print analysis,” Dollings said.
ZHS junior Samantha Moore is one of 60 students in the Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science program. Moore said her first day of school has been going well. She’s excited to her junior year of high school. She knows it will be a lot of work, but she’s ready to take on the challenge.
“I’m really looking excited for my anatomy class with Mr. Dollings and Project Lead The Way, because it’s a new thing. I’m really looking forward to being in the medial field when I get older,” Moore said.
Mr. Dollings said Project Lead The Way is an exciting and engaging program where students receive hands on experience with different related science occupations.
