National Public Gardens Day Celebrated at Mission Oaks
Break out your trowel and watering can because it’s officially gardening season!
The Mission Oaks Gardens held their second annual educational event Friday to celebrate National Public Gardens Day, and to help new and old gardeners alike with their gardens. They are willing to answer any question you might have about gardening.
"We have a lot of people come in here that are advanced gardeners and people who don’t know a whole lot about gardening in general," said Garden Host Darlene Turner. "We are here to answer those questions to show them that even the simplest plants can be planted and be successful."
Turner said events like these are to help the community realize what the garden is all about and introduce them to all the programs they have this spring.
"The gardens are about 18 years old, and we’d like to introduce the public here in Zanesville to let them see what a gem they have here in the city of Zanesville," Turner said.
The Mission Oaks Gardens are proud to announce they have partnered up with the Muskingum County Library System to introduce a children’s garden program opening up this spring.
