Vendor Guilty or Worker’s Comp Fraud
A Cambridge hot dog vendor is sentenced for worker’s compensation fraud.
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation captured James Harris on video operating a hot dog car while he was supposed to be recovering from a workplace injury.
They also located pictures of Harris that he’d posted to Facebook, operating Ed-Dee’s Dog Wagon.
Harris plead guilty to one misdemeanor count of workers’ compensation fraud and was ordered to pay more than $4,000 in restitution, which he paid.
The BWC Administrator said any type of work whether in an office or outside at a food truck is a violation of the law of claimant receiving benefits that don’t permit employment.
