Herbert Edward Mesre, 73 of Zanesville passed away on Friday October 14, 2016 at Genesis Hospital. Herb was born in Zanesville on December 1, 1942 to the late Samuel and Mary MaKool Mesre. Herb was a member of V.F.W. Post 1058, American Legion Post 29, and St. James Episcopal Church. He was an Avid horse lover, owning many race horses over the years and proudly served our Country and protected our freedom in the United States Army.

He is survived by a sister Marguerite Mesre of Zanesville, a brother George Mesre of Zanesville, and a niece Jodi Witte of Pittsburg.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Nick Mesre and Moses “Uncle Mose” Mesre, and two sisters: Yvonne Mesre and Josephine Mesre.

Visitation will be on Tuesday October 18 from 1-2pm at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Services will follow at 2pm in the Snouffer Chapel with The Reverend Robert E. Willmann officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors by George Selsam VFW Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29.
