Miles’ Mission Memorial Park to Bring Comfort and Reflection to Zanesville
ZANESVILLE, OH – A quiet piece of greenspace in Zanesville is about to become a special place of healing and hope.
The Muskingum Valley Park District has officially teamed up with Miles’ Mission to bring a brand-new memorial park to life. The Miles’ Mission Memorial Park will soon grow out of the Military Road greenspace; a location tucked between the Zanesville Museum of Art and Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
“We never imagined that we’d be in this position. We’re very blessed, very fortunate, very honored, and we’re excited to be partnering with Russ and the organization. It also means a lot from the standpoint of providing one more piece of hope for families. That’s the biggest thing. We want people to find an opportunity to heal and to recognize that this is just one piece of the puzzle that they go through in navigating the journey without that child. As they continue to move forward, we want them to find the serenity here,” President of Miles’ Mission Michael Bullock said.
Miles’ Mission is a Zanesville nonprofit that supports families facing pregnancy and infant loss. Plans for the park include an Angel of Hope statue, dedication bricks, a play space, and a pavilion where visitors can take a quiet moment to breathe.
“I think it’s a great use for a piece of property that was pretty much vacant for years. It does fit the Muskingum Valley Park District’s mission because it provides people with access to nature and the outdoors. It’ll allow them to reflect and enjoy the nature that the facility has to offer,” Muskingum Valley Park District Executive Director, Russell Edgington said.
Construction is expected to begin this September. To donate or learn more, the Miles Mission website.
