County Commissioners Proclaim This Week 4-H Week
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Thursday, the board of county commissioners proclaim the week of February 14-20 as Muskingum County 4-H week.
Muskingum County offers 200 different 4-H projects from sewing, woodworking, creative writing, and livestock.
“We have our members, parents, volunteers, and alum share some of their experiences from the past that will hopefully generate some enthusiasm for 4-h to get us off to a good start this year. One of the other things that we are really excited about was the county commissioners supporting us. And flying the 4-H flag by the courthouse and also turning the lights in the courthouse green in honor of 4-H. If you haven’t had a chance to see that stop by after dark to see that. It’s really cool,” said Muskingum County 4-H Extension Educator Michelle Fehr.
Here in Muskingum County there are more than 80 4-H clubs. Last night 4-H held it’s kick off at Rolling Plains United Methodist Church.
“We had 4-H members who were able to take some of the projects that they’ve done in the past show them off. Also the people that were in attendance got to see some of the awards that we give out especially the new 4-H scholarships. That we were able to award last night,” said Fehr.
To get involved or to join 4-H contact the Muskingum County 4-H Extension office at (740)454-0144.
