Christian Sentenced in Drug Case
One of two men charged in a November drug bust was sentenced in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.
Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced Cory R. Christian of Zanesville to four years in prison for possession of drugs Oxycodone, possession of drugs heroin, three counts of having a weapon while under disability, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.
As part of sentencing all weapons seized in the case must be forfeited to the State of Ohio. Post Release Control is optional for up to 3 years.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said on November 3, the Muskingum County/Zanesville City Joint Drug Task Force, the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested Christian and Jeremy Wilson in connection to a drug investigation and operation that started in Zanesville and crossed over county lines into Crooksville.
Lutz said as a result of the investigation, authorities seized heroin, methamphetamine, Oxycodone, five handguns, including one stolen, one vehicle, and U.S. currency.
