The United Way releases 211 October Report

ZANESVILE, Ohio- The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties’ 211 program has seen an increase in food assistance requests for the month of October.
Community Impact Director, Becky Clawson said this is typical for this time of year.
“What that means is that people are calling for assistance to find a food resource,” Clawson said. “It maybe a one time emergency. Â Or it maybe a consistent resource within Muskingum County Hunger Network or a pantry in Morgan or Perry (county).”
Clawson said in the state not everyone knows where their next meal is coming from.
“One out of every four households in the State of Ohio may not know where their next meal is coming from. Or at least missing one meal a day. That’s why the 211 information source is so important, because they can call and get the information for where are hot meals are offered,” Clawson said.
Clawson said housing and utilities assistance end up the top three for the most calls requesting information in Muskingum, Morgan, and Perry counties.
