Eastside Community Ministry’s 19th Annual Golf Outing
ZANESVILLE, OH – A beautiful day on the course brought plenty of smiles, swings, and support for local youth during Eastside Community Ministry’s golf outing.
The 19th annual event teed off on July 31st at Eaglesticks Golf Club. Golfers and supporters hit the green for a day of fun, all for a great cause. Proceeds from the outing benefit the Eastside Youth Program, which provides support to children facing poverty, substance abuse, and illiteracy.
“We have a summer program, and we have an after-school program. With the summer program, we do a lot of different things like field trips and 4-H, which we just wrapped up. Then we go right into our after-school program. We do a lot of things with that. We help them out with their homework, feed them dinner, take them on trips, and provide transportation and education,” Youth Program Manager Brandon Harney said.
This year, a total of 15 teams hit the course in support of Eastside’s mission. Thanks to the generosity of participants and sponsors, local youth will have access to the guidance, support, and resources they need.
“This gold outing helps support everything that we do. It helps pay for the trips and supplies. It helps to keep everybody coming back to do things and to give them the opportunities that they might not normally have,” Harney said.
Eastside plans to keep the tradition alive with another golf outing next year. To learn more about the youth program, visit Eastside Community Ministry’s website.
