ZANESVILLE, OH – Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio invited community members to come and show off their creative side.

Habitat hosted their 5th Stud-A-Thon Fundraiser at the Zanesville American Legion Post 29 this week.

Melissa Best, the Director of Community Engagement with Habitat, says the best part about this fundraiser is the studs that got decorated will be heading into a house here in Zanesville very soon.

“Every year it just gets better and better and the community really comes together to make this event great.” Best said. “So these studs will be used to frame the next Habitat for Humanity house right here in Zanesville, that will either be this fall or spring, we’re working on that build schedule right now.”

Several community sponsors were out decorating their studs with their logos while some channeled their inner Picasso.

Best said over 100 studs were decorated and are ready to head into their new home.

“Someone once told me that if you treasure your community, you’ll have a treasured community.” Best said. “And I think that’s evident in what you’re going to see.”

Best once again thanked the community for their support during the Stud-A-Thon and added that it wouldn’t be possible without them.
