ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Ohio University Zanesville is celebrating International Education Week this week with the theme of Global Workforce Readiness.

The weeklong event features a variety of activities to showcase diverse perspectives and cultural engagement. On Tuesday, the event line-up included playing games from across the globe, a book club meeting with South Korean teas and snacks, and an event called Flavors of the World.

“Well today is my favorite day. We actually did flavors around the world and so we had an international luncheon. And so, we had food from different places locally. We had Mexican and Indian and hibachi and so this is the most widely attended event. We’ve served almost 100 students and staff and faculty today so far.”

Sophomores Marley Harper and Hunter Hlad say the weeklong event is a great event for students on campus and share their favorite events.

“Mines the food, and getting to play all these games with all of my friends and my class. Food was great. I loved that little buttery chicken with rice stuff,” said Harper.

“I got to agree with her,” said Hlad “The food here was really good and I think it’s just super cool to see, like, all the variety of food from, like, different countries and learn about all the different types of games and just playing along with my friends. I think it’s just super cool and I’m really excited for it.”

Events planned for later in the week include a workshop for a art medium from the Netherlands called iris folding and a screening of a film titled “With Honors.”
