BYESVILLE, OH – Not one, not tow, but how about three new coaches set to take charge for the Colts.

One in the fall, and two more in the spring, the board of education for the Rolling Hills Local School District has approved new head coaches for football, baseball, and softball.

Coular Clendenning will be the new head coach for the Colts’ football team starting in 2026. Clendenning is a 2008 Meadowbrook graduate, who should be a familiar name, having previously served as the head coach during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Along with stops as a defensive coordinator and assistant coach at Kenston and Streetsboro, his teams have plenty of playoff success and conference championships.

Clendenning succeeds Steve Norman, who led his alma mater to a 23-30 record over five seasons with one playoff appearance in 2022.

The Colts’ new head coach currently serves as a K-5 intervention specialist within the school system.

However, the next two coaches don’t have quite as much time to prepare for first pitch of their seasons.

Few know Meadowbrook better than the new baseball head coach, Joe Voytko, who graduated in 1989, and brings a great deal of success from his playing days, as a 1988 regional runner-up and 1989 state runner-up with the Colts.

Voytko has served as a certified umpire for baseball and softball, and has since served as an assistant coach for both the baseball and softball teams in Byesville.

He is a K-5 writing teacher at Meadowbrook Elementary, and will look to improve on the Colts’ 10-12 season in 2025.

When Doug Pfeffer hits the Meadowbrook dougout to lead the softball team, he will look to continue his success after seven years at Caldwell.

During his tenure there, the former OVAC coach of the year collected three OVAC championships, one league runner-up finish, two MOVL titles, and a district runner-up appearance.

Pfeffer is the assistant principal at the high school and succeeds Mike Wiggins after a tremendous 22-8 season in 2025, resulting in a shared MVL small school division title with West Muskingum.
