Marilyn Glosser

Marilyn Jean Glosser, 86, of Zanesville, peacefully finished her earthly journey on January 26, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Zanesville on December 18, 1939, to James Henry, Sr. and Eileen (Mendenhall) Henry.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Brian) Wood of Zanesville; her sons, Robin Dunlap of Zanesville and Rev. Rocky (Stephanie) Dunlap of Tacoma, Washington; two sisters, Kay Morrison of Zanesville and Ellen (Mickey) Riggs of Bean Station, Tennessee; brothers-in-law, John (Frances) Jones of DeQuincy, Louisiana, and Kenny (Shirley) Jones of Zanesville; and her sister-in-law, Helen Temple of South Zanesville. She is also survived by four stepchildren: Deborah (Jim) Burtnett of Zanesville, Rusty (Stacey) Glosser of Norfolk, Nebraska, Harry W. Jr. (Carol) Glosser of New Concord, and Sandra Glosser of Columbus, Ohio.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Ryan (Tonya) Wood of Zanesville, Brandi (Josh) Kirschbaum of Xenia, Fawn (Matt) Walters of Tacoma, Washington, Lyndsie (Steve) Hammond of Purdy, Washington, Riley (Nate) Marth of Puyallup, Washington, Rocky II (Carly) Dunlap of Puyallup, Washington, Lacey Roberts of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Dustin (Allison) Dunlap of Marietta, Ohio, Jeremy Nutter of Coshocton, Ohio, and Kalie (Tad) Drake of Roseville, Ohio; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Harry Glosser, Sr., Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Martin Dunlap; her brothers, James Henry, Donald Henry, and Michael Henry; and her sister, Carolyn Hopper.

Marilyn was a graduate of Roseville High School and devoted more than forty years of faithful service to the Leer Corporation, formerly Essex Wire, before retiring.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Marilyn was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Zanesville. She will be remembered for her service to others, generosity, and steadfast love. She was also a longtime member of the Zanesville Eagles FOE #302 and faithfully captained the Soul Survivors Relay for Life team for many years, consistently ranking among the top fundraisers for the National Cancer Society.

Her greatest earthly joy was her family, whom she loved fiercely and faithfully. She delighted in hosting gatherings, preparing meals, and traveling with those she loved. Marilyn was especially known for her homemade noodles and raisin cookies, which always sold out at the many community fundraisers she joyfully supported. She lived with a true servant’s heart, reflecting Christ’s love in both word and deed. Her warm smile, encouraging words, and get-it-done attitude will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

William Thompson and Son Funeral Home in White Cottage is entrusted with arrangements. Calling hours will be held on January 29, 2026, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Additional calling hours will be held on January 30 from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Rocky Dunlap and Rev. John Cottrell officiating. A private burial for family members will take place at Zanesville Memorial Park.

A wake will be held in Marilyn’s honor after the funeral at Zanesville Eagles, 1725 E. Market Street, Zanesville.
